Another great #FrontBurner from #CBC #Radio on #AI in post secondary education #PSE
My job involves trying to find ways of dealing with it.

My #EndOf10 project was going well with my #LinuxMint installation but connecting to my old #NAS through #Samba is tiresome and needs more concentration than I currently have available.

Sad to see another incident where a car was used as a weapon. Liverpool so soon after Vancouver.

So #mozilla are shutting down #pocket. Any good #opensource or #fediverse #ethical alternatives?

In light of the #JoeBiden #prostatecancer diagnosis, please, men over 50 (or 45 in high risk groups) consider getting your #PSA checked. #cancer

I used to love Sunday Morning radio – The Sunday Edition on CBC had some great documentaries. I am sure there still are some but I feel like Sunday morning radio has turned into a few hours of “trauma radio”. I usually do not make it past the trigger warnings.
I am not advocating “good vibes only” but give us a break! #radio #CBC #RadioDocs

It is good to sound the alarm – we had the Pierre Poilievre and Jordan Peterson incel lovefest which is a prime example.

I was recently a guest on the PC-PEP podcast sharing some of my experience with my prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment decisions. https://matthewguy.com/pc-pep-podcast/

This has been the most interesting podcast analysis of the election I have heard.
https://www.cbc.ca/radio/frontburner/where-does-pierre-poilievre-go-from-here-1.7523302The title of the episode undersells it. “Top Conservative strategist, Kory Teneycke” is the guest and is an interesting and smart analysis of the state of play. #cdnpoli #canpol

Poilievre has a personality that is highly divisive. It was great to see him rejected by the people of Carlton. I hope the same happens in Alberta (but unlikely).
Progressives need less focus on the “unfairness” of the whole thing and start focussing on why many working Canadians are won over by the CPC in such high numbers.
We need to focus on the concerns of the electorate, argue our case for progress, counter the lies and point out the extremism that is bubbling under the surface of the Conservative Party behind the “populist” slogans.
